SCHOOL TRIP TO ENGLAND

We have been studying English since we were children. We have always heard about England but most of us had never been there. So we were eager to start this experience.

Thanks to our teachers Anna Maria Ricci and Stefania Lepreti our class,2 liceo A,  1 liceo A and 1 liceo B, left on 18th March from Ancona. We landed at Stansted and after some hours on the coach we met our host families in Canterbury. The next day, after having discovered something more about English habits, we went to London, where we saw the most famous attractions. Big Ben, Buckingham palace, London Eye and Westminster Abbey amazed us. Then we had some free time and we decided to go to Piccadilly Circus to do some shopping.

From Monday to Friday we attended lessons at Stafford House School where we dealt with current issues, we had discussions but we also enjoyed a lot playing the Canterbury tales. In the afternoons, after having lunch at the canteen,  where we met a lot of other students from different countries, we had school activities but also free time. For example we had a guided tour of Canterbury on Monday, and on Wednesday a trip to Leeds castle, a magnificent manor with a beautiful maze.

We had a treasure hunt through the streets of Canterbury which made us discover a lot of fascinating corners in town. Another day we found out what English people think about Italian people with an amusing interview to the passers -by. We appreciated the stunning cathedral with its colorful windows but also the great number of shops.

Trying new English food was very interesting even if at the beginning we were a little bit scared. We soon got used to these new habits and when we returned home on  25th March we missed our new family, our friends and English life a lot.
